Review
I love 7" records. They're cheap and they let you check out a new band. I love split 7" records more. They're cheap and they let you check out TWO new bands! Unfortunately, these two bands aren't winners in my cheap explorations.

Clowns For Progress appear to be a decent metallic punk band and take the lead for this split release both chronologically and in my preferences. They're a little bit silly with their cheesy metal tricks, but that's really the only reason I like metal anyways: it's fun. The song ends pretty abruptly, unlike most metal songs, and you're left thinking "Oh, that's it?" But Clowns For Progress are all business, it appears. The business of silly metal, that is.

The 22 Jacks side is just a sped up Social Distortion song. That would be fine if I like Social Distortion. It would be even better if the chorus wasn't "Breakin' is what I want." I was hoping for a song expounding upon the wonders of early 80's breakdancing techniques, but instead its some quest for pointless violence, apparently. Bummer.

A: Insect Clowns for Progress
B: Breakin' 22 Jacks
