we were not listed as a rewards program in the commission junction database. we were not aware that this had to be done since there was no setting for "incentive programs" when we first filled out our account information. we must now get written approval for the merchants we list. this may take a few days. we will start this process immediately and see how many merchants decide to remain affiliated with us. unfortunately, we have to take down the site until this problem is resolved. hopefully it will be back up soon.

update, 12/15/2000.

so far we have recieved word from a few of our merchants. 7 have decided to continue. fortunately, many advertisers are still reviewing our site. we are optimistic about the future of web-earners.com and hope that you are too.

to please our advertisers and better serve you, we are going to make a few policy changes. we plan on limiting the number of members we allow to sign up to 10,000. if this works well, we may increase the number of members later on. so that everyone has a chance, this will require us to weed out some members every month. we will do this be removing members that have not clicked on any links that month. so, to stay active, all you have to do is click on one link a month.

also, instead of randomly allocating un-referred members to any member, we are going to give those referrals to a randomly chosen member from those with the least amount of referrals. so, if there are 200 members with 0 referrals when a new member signs up, then one of those 200 people will get the credit, instead of someone who already has a few hundred referrals. this seems more fair to us and should not significantly hurt anyone, since most of our members will come in referred already.

lastly, we will have to delay payment for one month. our main advertising supplier does not send us our money until one month after the clicks are counted so we must delay the same amount. your account balance and number of clicks will be reset to 0 on december 20th, 2000 and you will receive your payment on january 30th, 2001. you have our guarantee that all members with balances on december 20th will be paid on january 30th.

hopefully this weekend we can continue the signup process. we hope to get a few more advertisers so we can restart the clicking at the same time. as always, we thank you for your continued patience.
