Sick soundtrack for punching crocodiles and getting super frustrated.
An ambitious NES game, probably released just after the popularity of Crocodile Dundee (I'm not going to research this and see if I'm right) in order to capitalize on the rugged, nature-hardened dude genre. You're a outdoorsy white dude with a vest and a hat and you've got to rescue your lady from a kidnapper. Obviously, you set off into the swamp and fight a whole slew of other dudes and other animals to get her back. However, you will probably fail because this game is notoriously difficult. Pretty sure that if I got anywhere in this game I used a cheat code.
The key feature of this game (and probably the main reason to buy it) is that it uses both the controller and the light gun. The first light gun stage gets frantic, difficult to play, and probably where I died the most. Level 4 switches it up to a racing game where you throw grenades from a speeding jeep like any bayou-raised individual would and I'm pretty sure I never made it past this level as the controls are... difficult. The game apparently just gets tougher from there all the way to the tough boss battle and if you've beaten this game, kudos to you.
In all, it is an ambitious idea that would have been just as good if it wasn't so tough.
