A beautiful journey of restoration.



Sometimes you just need a chill and pretty game about swimming around and finding stuff. A calm, underwater platformer of sorts with fish friends and bubbly ambiance. Yet, also a sort of retrofuturistic exploration game with a wordless mystery to investigate.

ABZUÛ is a masterful use of relatively low polygon graphics to create a stunningly complex and beautiful world. The feel of it perfectly matches the scenery and you are truly immersed (nay, submerged) in this strange, yet familiar world. Exploration is a joy, puzzle solving is just difficult enough without being frustrating, and every animation seems exactly right. Great care was taken to bring us this little universe and it shows in every lighting choice and texture of the game. It is delightful and a treat to experience. My only wish is that I found a little more personal connection to the story, but that's likely a me problem, not a game problem.

Unless you have thalassophobia, this game is a must-play.
