For nearly 40 year old shareware, a pretty solid piece of programming.
In the early days of gaming, all you needed was a faithful port of a game you already owned in real life to bring you to the blissful joy of owning a computer. You got a connection to the internet through your friend whose mom worked at a university, you found a shareware repository on ftp, and you downloaded that joy to your mac. Now you could play Battleship without having to involve your younger siblings!
Apparently, in later versions, you could play this thing over a modem or even AppleTalk but I never had that experience. Probably because I never paid the shareware fee. So, it was just me against the machine in the later hours of the early 90's, battling it out over who could guess better. Yeah, it's basic and simple but when computers are new and you're new to computers, it is satisfactory.
Now, probably everyone could program one of these for the web or something so I'm not sure why you'd go through the effort to seek this out, particularly in a non-emulated form!
