Better when it was simpler.



I went back to agar.io after years not even thinking about it and am amazed at all these features. Coins? Potions? XP? Wasn't this just a game where you guide a blob around and try to get swole to eat some other blobs so you can eat more blobs? I don't even remember the splitting and spitting mechanics but maybe that was just because I mostly watched this game of the shoulders of students trying to entertain themselves during a class.

Add in the usual 12-year old boy names and trolling behaviors of unmoderated online gaming spaces and you get a pretty terrible experience in modern times. Perhaps if you got a friends-only arena it could be fun to try to become the biggest blob but as-is, I don't see why anyone should go back to play this game on any of the platforms, to be honest.
