The real puzzle challenge is how early you can figure out the big reveal (if it hasn't been spoiled for you already).

Always in search of a sad, chill game, I got a recommendation to play Call of the Sea. You might say it called out to me. Wait, no, don't say that. Well, while the call was strong, the answer was middling. It was a chill game but not particularly sad until maybe the end, though the ending I got took me back out of the sad, honestly. What the game brings is some pretty mild puzzling and some solid voice acting. The metaphysical telescope thingy was the toughest puzzle for me but one I got past that, a few minutes of "Hm, what do I do here?" and exploration led to the solutions.

Overall, it is a fine game. The graphics and sounds aren't spectacular but get the job done. The setting is interesting but not really groundbreaking. The story is fine and goes for a twist or two but not particularly heart-wrenching despite the best efforts of the actors. If you're a adventure puzzle game fan I think you'll be kind of bored but if you're new to the genre it would be an appropriate entry point.

Essentially if you'd like a very calm and chill exploration of an island with some mystery and mild romance, my old pal, then Call Of The Sea is worth a look.
