"Go To Hell"

Go To Hell is definitely my favorite song from 10:07's last full length, You're Cool. I picked this record up from the Amoeba Records bargain bin a number of years back even though I own two copies of the record that the single is from. This single-sided 7" in a straightforward purple photocopied sleeve highlights some of the best parts of 10:07.
The thing I like best about the band is Matt Matsuoka's ragged and heartfelt vocal style. The line "So alive, I'm holding death inside" is one of those anthemic choruses that stick with a youthful listener. The sense of shameless abandon in his tone undoubtedly inspired many withdrawn youth to flail about in the safety of a friendly crowd of strangers here in Seattle. Whenever I listen to a 10:07 song, I'm always sad I never got to see them, even though they helped inspire my musical choices through high school. These staticky and frantic sha-na-na-na-na's would have been great to sing along to with a couple hundred friends.
