After sitting around all day yesterday, today I drove from my parent’s place to the Anacortes Skatepark. I looked up some “local” skateparks and decided to head out there instead of go to Burlington again. Adventure!
The park design looked ok from the tiny pictures I was looking at. What pictures can’t tell you is the condition of the concrete. The surface at the park is pretty terrible. Very rough and many of the transitions have cracks or chipped corners. The design was interesting but difficult to skate. There were some obstacles that had no real approach to them. There was no coping at the top of any of the quarter pipes. However, I learned how to do rail slides on the tiny square, flat rail. And attempting to skate the varying transitions was pretty good exercise, so it wasn’t a total loss.
